This Privacy Policy explains how the Ferrata mobile application (the "App"), operated by Cata Labs ("we", "us"), handles your information. Ferrata is designed around a simple principle: your data stays on your device.
The App does not require account registration, and we do not operate servers that collect or store your personal data. The App contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs. We do not sell personal data.
The following data is created by your use of the App and stored only on your device:
We cannot see, access, or restore this data. Deleting the App, or using "Erase all data" in Settings, permanently deletes it.
If you enable step syncing, the App reads your step count only from Apple Health (iOS) or Health Connect (Android), with your explicit permission. Steps are stored on your device alongside your other logs and are never transmitted to us or anyone else. We do not write data to the health store, and we never use health data for advertising or marketing, nor disclose it to third parties. You can revoke access anytime in your device's privacy settings, and the in-app toggle can be turned off in Settings.
Subscriptions are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play; we never receive your payment card details. To validate purchases and manage subscription status, the App uses RevenueCat, a subscription-infrastructure provider, which processes a randomly generated app-user identifier, purchase receipts, and device/app metadata on our behalf. The App loads its display font at runtime via Google Fonts, which involves a standard network request to Google's font servers (no personal data beyond the technical request itself, such as IP address, is sent by the App).
